Inlays are a type of dental restoration used to strengthen teeth that have suffered several cavities or significant damage.

During the first visit, the dentist will remove any decay and prepare the tooth. Then the dentist will take an impression of the filed-down tooth and send it to the lab. Once the impressions have been prepared, a second appointment will be scheduled to cement the inlay into place. In some cases, E4D technology can be used to complete this in one single appointment.

Inlays can be made from various materials, including gold, ceramic or porcelain. Inlays last longer than conventional fillings.
