Dental Crowns
A crown is a prosthesis that looks like a cap placed over a tooth. The dentist covers the tooth to protect it and reconstitute its shape, color, size, and strength.
Dental Bridges
A bridge replaces one or multiple missing teeth with one or multiple artificial teeth fused to crowns installed on the neighboring teeth (abutment teeth).
Recommendations following a crown or bridge procedure
Dentists at the clinic recommend that for you to heal properly, you must follow the procedure below. Please note, however, that you may experience some discomfort to the teeth and injection site.
Recommandations
Crowns or bridges are dental restorative care services that enable your mouth and, of course, your smile, to remain functional.
If the crown or bridge is performed in two visits, during the first one, your dentist at the Centre dentaire de la gare will take impressions of the teeth that need to be replaced. The crowns or temporary bridges will be placed in your mouth to protect your teeth before the implants are ready.
Day of procedure
- Take the prescribed medication if needed.
To avoid
- Drink hot beverages when under anesthesia.
- Eat sticky or hard foods (chewing gum, candy).
Food
- Do not chew on the side of your mouth where the procedure was performed from the next day to a complete recovery.
- Brush your teeth naturally, and floss cautiously to prevent the crown from falling.
If a crown falls, please contact us shortly. Waiting for too long could lead to a more complicated installation of your new crown and the remaining teeth could start shifting towards the empty area.
If you have concerns or questions about this matter, do not hesitate to inform our hygienists, they will be pleased to help you!
